This is a COMPLETE bibliography of publications in the journal Berichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte (Reports on the History of Science), CODEN BEWID8, ISSN 0170-6233 (print), 1522-2365 (electronic), published by Wiley.

Except in historical journals from before about 1950, it is not conventional to include academic and professional titles in author names in English-language bibliographies. We make an exception for this journal because of the differing bibliographic, cultural, and language traditions of the journal, and most of its article authors.
Because German compound words are spelled without spaces or hyphens (e.g., the longest here is the 33-character-long word Wissenschaftsgeschichtsschreibung [scientific historiography]), there are many long words in this bibliography that cause difficulty for TeX's default English-language hyphenation rules. Many hyphenation exceptions have been supplied in the preamble, and several explicit discretionary hyphens have been introduced in some BibTeX entry titles to improve line breaking in the typeset bibliography. However, and intentionally, no such discretionaries have been inserted in author names.
German-language typesetting would normally load additional hyphenation rules into TeX, but that has not been done in the companion LaTeX file for typesetting this bibliography. However, that file does have commented-out commands to do that.
Data for this bibliography has been collected from bibliographic archives of the TeX User Group and the BibNet Project at the University of Utah, augmented with data from the publisher's Web sites. Numerous errors have been corrected in the Web data.
Spelling has been verified with the UNIX spell and GNU ispell programs using the exception dictionary stored in the companion file with extension .sok.
BibTeX citation tags are uniformly chosen as name:year:abbrev, where name is the family name of the first author or editor, year is a 4-digit number, and abbrev is a 3-letter condensation of important title words. Citation tags were automatically generated by software developed for the BibNet Project.
In this bibliography, entries are sorted in publication order within each journal, using bibsort -byvolume.
The checksum field above contains a CRC-16 checksum as the first value, followed by the equivalent of the standard UNIX wc (word count) utility output of lines, words, and characters. This is produced by Robert Solovay's checksum utility.
