This is a COMPLETE bibliography of the journal Concurrency: Practice and Experience (CODEN CPEXEI, ISSN 1040-3108 (print), 1096-9128 (electronic)), published by Wiley (Chichester, Sussex, England).

The journal began with volume 1, number 1, in September 1989, appeared twice yearly in 1990--1991, and steadily increased from eight to fifteen times yearly from 1992 to 2000. Publication ceased with volume 12, number 15, in December 2000, when the journal was renamed Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience (CODEN CCPEBO, ISSN 1532-0626 (print), 1532-0634 (electronic)). That new journal is covered in a separate bibliography, ccpe.bib.

Coverage may be incomplete for volume 1, and for volume 4, number 8, which are missing from the Compendex and OCLC databases (there is no coverage at all for this journal in the MathSciNet database); however, entries have been found from other sources, and there do not appear to be any unexpected page number gaps, although it is possible that one or more articles from the end of an issue are not recorded.

The editor maintains a Web site for the journal at

    http://hpc-journals.ecs.soton.ac.uk/CPE/

with abstracts and raw bibliographic data for 1994, 1996 and 1997, and the publisher has a journal Web site at

    http://www.interscience.wiley.com/jpages/1040-3108/

with data for 1996--date, but the index and tables of contents for Volume 8 (1996) to date there are accessible only to registered users (limited-access guest accounts are available). Academic users may have automatic access through their local library subscriptions.

At version 1.19, the year coverage looked like this:

     1989 (  10)    1993 (  36)    1997 (  84)
     1990 (  13)    1994 (  32)    1998 (  80)
     1991 (  47)    1995 (  40)    1999 (  50)
     1992 (  32)    1996 (  42)    2000 (  84)

     Article:        550

     Total entries:  550

The initial draft for volumes 2--7 (1990--1995) was extracted from the OCLC database. Regrettably, that database does not record final page numbers of journal articles, but thanks to searches in other databases, and the kind help of the journal editor, all but one of these deficiencies have been corrected at version 1.02.

The bibliography was augmented by additional data from the bibliographies in the TeX User Group and BibNet Project archives, with a small number from the very large computer science bibliography collection at the University of Karlsruhe in http://liinwww.ira.uka.de/bibliography/ and ftp://ftp.ira.uka.de/pub/bibliography to which many people of have contributed, and completed by merging in entries converted from tables of contents at the journal Web site. Missing page numbers have been supplied from citations to the journal found in Internet Web pages and in bibliographies from the Karlsruhe archive.

BibTeX citation tags are uniformly chosen as name:year:abbrev, where name is the family name of the first author or editor, year is a 4-digit number, and abbrev is a 3-letter condensation of important title words. Citation tags were automatically generated by software developed for the BibNet Project.

In this bibliography, entries are sorted in publication order, using bibsort -byvolume.

The checksum field above contains a CRC-16 checksum as the first value, followed by the equivalent of the standard UNIX wc (word count) utility output of lines, words, and characters. This is produced by Robert Solovay's checksum utility.
