BibTeX file docstring comments

This is a BibTeX bibliography of the magazine Electronic Composition and Imaging.

At version 1.04, the year coverage looked like this:

     1990 ( 25) 1992 ( 33)

     1991 ( 9) 1993 ( 55)

Article: 122

Total entries: 122

Regrettably, no publication data after 1993 is available, and I do not know if the publication is still produced. The U.S. Library of Congress record for this magazine does not indicate that publication has ceased. A Web search turned up a reference to the magazine's publisher at

http://www.youngblood.on.ca

but I have not been able to get a successful browser connection to that host, and nslookup cannot translate it to a numeric IP address.

This bibliography has been derived from the OCLC Contents1st database. Because that database lacks ending page numbers, entries in this bibliography do as well.

BibTeX citation tags are uniformly chosen as name:year:abbrev, where name is the family name of the first author or editor, year is a 4-digit number, and abbrev is a 3-letter condensation of important title words. Citation tags were automatically generated by software developed for the BibNet Project.

In this bibliography, entries are sorted by journal, and then by publication order, with the help of ``bibsort -byvolume''. The bibsort utility is available from ftp.math.utah.edu in /pub/tex/bib.

Fields within entries have been put into a consistent order by the biborder utility, and the entire bibliography has been processed by the bibclean syntax checker and prettyprinter, and by bibcheck. These tools are available in the same archive as bibsort.

Spelling has been verified with the UNIX spell and GNU ispell programs using the exception dictionary stored in the companion file with extension .sok. Numerous heuristic checks on the validity of the bibliography files have also been made using software developed by the author for maintenance of the TeX Users Group and BibNet bibliography collections.

The checksum field above contains a CRC-16 checksum as the first value, followed by the equivalent of the standard UNIX wc (word count) utility output of lines, words, and characters. This is produced by Robert Solovay's checksum utility.
