This is a VERY PRELIMINARY bibliography of publications in the International Journal of Quantum Chemistry (CODEN IJQCB2, ISSN 0020-7608 (print), 1097-461X (electronic)), published by John Wiley and Sons, Inc., for the years 1967--1999. A companion bibliography, ijqc2000.bib covers later years.

The publisher maintains a World-Wide Web site for the journal at

    http://www.interscience.wiley.com/jpages/0020-7608/

but to follow the pointer to the tables-of-contents requires an account with the publisher.

############################################# # This bibliography is dedicated to the # # memory of Per-Olov Lowdin, 28 October # # 1916 -- 6 October 2000. # # # # Per-Olov was an outstanding teacher and # # researcher, founder of the Uppsala Summer # # School and Florida Winter School in # # Quantum Chemistry (attended by thousands # # of scientists from scores of countries), # # founder of the Sanibel Conferences in # # Quantum Chemistry and Quantum Biology (he # # attended the 40th in March 2000), founder # # and Editor-in-Chief of the International # # Journal of Quantum Chemistry, and founder # # and Editor-in-Chief of the Academic Press # # book series, Advances in Quantum # # Chemistry, fondly known to many of us as # # Adventures in .... :^) # # # # Per-Olov was an inspiring role model to a # # great many people, and was also my thesis # # co-advisor. We miss him, and we thank # # him. # #############################################

At version 0.38, the year coverage looked like this:

     1967 (  10)    1979 (   6)    1991 (  82)
     1968 (   9)    1980 (   1)    1992 ( 162)
     1969 (   7)    1981 (   1)    1993 ( 262)
     1970 (   9)    1982 (   0)    1994 ( 321)
     1971 (  14)    1983 (   0)    1995 ( 321)
     1972 (   6)    1984 (   0)    1996 ( 571)
     1973 (   3)    1985 (   0)    1997 ( 475)
     1974 (   4)    1986 (   0)    1998 ( 324)
     1975 (   5)    1987 (   0)    1999 ( 351)
     1976 (   3)    1988 (   0)    2000 (   0)
     1977 (   3)    1989 (   0)    2001 (   0)
     1978 (   1)    1990 ( 102)    2002 (   1)

     Article:       3054

     Total entries: 3054

Entries are mostly from 1990--date, thanks to the addition of a heavily-edited and corrected conversion of the results of a search in the OCLC Contents1st database. Regrettably, this database does not record final page numbers of journal articles, so there are many page ranges of the form 123--?? in this bibliography. Additional entries have been provided from searches in the Compendex database, and from the journal Web site.

Certainly many errors remain yet in the transcription of chemical formulae. In particular, the library markup includes many characters in the range 128..255, with uncertain meaning; they have been preserved as octal escape sequences of the form ?xyz, so that perhaps a future edit can provide suitable TeX substitutions.

In this bibliography, entries are sorted first by ascending year, and within each year, alphabetically by author or editor, and then, if necessary, by the 3-letter abbreviation at the end of the BibTeX citation tag, using the bibsort -byyear utility. Year order has been chosen to make it easier to identify the most recent work.

The checksum field above contains a CRC-16 checksum as the first value, followed by the equivalent of the standard UNIX wc (word count) utility output of lines, words, and characters. This is produced by Robert Solovay's checksum utility.
