This is a COMPLETE bibliography of the Journal for the History of Astronomy (CODEN JHSAA2, ISSN 0021-8286 (print), 1753-8556 (electronic), ISSN-L 0021-8286), originally published by Science History Publications Ltd., Halfpenny Furze, Mill Lane, Chalfont St. Giles, Bucks HP8 4NR, England. From 2014, the journal is published by Sage Press.
Publication began with volume 1 number 1 in February 1970. The journal had two annual issues in 1970 (volume 1), three in 1971--1981 (volumes 2--12). Since then, the journal appears quarterly, with occasional combined, and frequent supplemental, issues.
The supplemental issues are numbered sequentially as 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15--27. Notice the absence of 6, 8, 12, and 14. It is unclear whether the publisher has lost data for those four issues, or whether they were never published. An attempt to download Web pages for those issues within the range of volumes in which they must occur failed, so it is NOT the case that the Web pages are present, but just not linked to from the yearly Web pages. I then examined bound volumes 1--21 in the University of Utah library; strangely, NONE of the supplemental issues is present!

English translations are provided for the ten articles in French, and one in German. No attempt has yet been made to supply translations of foreign-language titles in the book and essay reviews.
The publisher Web pages that provide the metadata for this bibliography often have troublesome markup, particularly for the 1075 book reviews and 148 essay reviews, where the publication title is not marked, and sometimes, is omitted. Significant efforts have been made to repair such problems, but until each reviewed publication can be found in library catalogs, and eventually included in this bibliography, the \booktitle{...} wrappers must be viewed as likely, but uncertain. As a start, at version 1.00 of this bibliography, all of the reviewed books about Albert Einstein have been included in a separate section at the end of this file.
Although DOI values are provided in almost every entry, they do not appear to resolve by the dx.doi.org Web site; perhaps that is due to the journal ownership change in 2014, and will eventually by fixed by the publisher, or the dx.doi.org site.
A page-gap analysis identified two gaps of 13 pages each in the Sage publisher data for volume 2, pages 58--70 and 133--145. Two entries have been supplied for them, after examining original printed library volumes. Thus, neither of those entries has a DOI value. There are two-page gaps at the ends of volumes 21--33, 36, and 37; based on similar gaps, now repaired, in earlier volumes, they are likely to be volume indexes.
Numerous errors in the source noted above have been corrected. Spelling has been verified with the UNIX spell and GNU ispell programs using the exception dictionary stored in the companion file with extension .sok.
BibTeX citation tags are uniformly chosen as name:year:abbrev, where name is the family name of the first author or editor, year is a 4-digit number, and abbrev is a 3-letter condensation of important title words. Citation tags were automatically generated by software developed for the BibNet Project.
In this bibliography, entries are sorted in publication order within each journal, using bibsort -byvolume.
The checksum field above contains a CRC-16 checksum as the first value, followed by the equivalent of the standard UNIX wc (word count) utility output of lines, words, and characters. This is produced by Robert Solovay's checksum utility.
