Dear reader, The package PPCHTEX can be used to typeset chemical formulas. This is the second edition. The package is a separate module to CONTEXT, but can be used stand alone. CONTEXT is a full featured, parameter driven macro package, which fully supports advanced interactive documents. CONTEXT offers most functionality found in other packages and a bit more in an integrated way. After five years of development and heavy use of CONTEXT in both the production of complicated paper and electronic documents, we've decided to put the package in the public domain. The complete documented source to CONTEXT will be available later this year. The dutch version (i.e. dutch interface) is in the public domain already. The english version (i.e. english commands, keywords, messages) will come available together with the documentation. Other interfaces can be defined at will. A system generated cross refence guide is already available and we are in the process of translating the 450 page dutch manual to CONTEXT, so be patient. The next version of PPCHTEX will be english by default and fall back on some general CONTEXT modules. This will improve both performance and convenience. Newer versions will be support more complex structures but will be upward compatible. It would be nice if we could build a library of chemical structures to accompany PPCHTEX. Users are invited to send us samples. Don't hesitate to react when things don't work as expected. We take suggestions serious. Hans Hagen pragma@pi.net PRAGMA Postbox 125 8000AC Zwolle The Netherlands
