This package makes use of David Kastrup's patch package.

That package is available on CTAN as relative path
macros/generic/patch.doc; there is a soft link to that file in this
directory to simplify its retrieval. 

Though it is supported, the package is only tested under LaTeX of
1995/12/01 and later; please don't bother reporting bugs that appear
under earlier versions of LaTeX.
