This file is: iso10303/README This directory contains sources for LaTeX package files for producing ISO documents for ISO 10303, commonly known as STEP. Several parts of ISO 10303 have been published by ISO from camera ready copy generated from the macros in this directory. Even if you are not generating STEP documents, you may find some of the facilities will give you ideas for your own documents. The package files require the use of the general LaTeX ISO class and package files in directory ../iso. The originals are maintained in directory /pub/step/latex/current at ftp.cme.nist.gov or URL http://elib.cme.nist.gov:70 The principal files are: stepe.ins Installation script for stepe.dtx stepe.dtx Commented source of STEP style files stepsty.tex User manual for STEP files If you want your own working copies of of these files, copy the above files to a directory of your own and then do the following. o To generate the working class/package/style files: Run LaTeX2e on the .ins file(s). This will produce files with extensions .cls and/or .clo and/or .sty and/or .tex and/or .drv. o To generate typeset versions of the commented source file(s): Run LaTeX2e on the .dtx file(s), then process the resulting .dvi file(s) o To generate typeset versions of the user manuals: If not already done, generate the class/package/style files. Run LaTeX on the .tex files and print per normal. If you are willing to take a chance you could instead just add this directory to your TEXINPUTS environment variable so as to pick up the relevant class/style files automatically when you run LaTeX on your documents. CHANGES FROM 1st RELEASE LaTeX FILES ==================================== The following is a (possibly incomplete) list of the changes to the LaTeX commands for producing STEP documents from the STEP 1st release LaTeX files to the post-1st release files. o There is now one general STEP style file and then specific separate styles for the following kinds of documents: IRs, APs, AICs, ATSs. o Some changes to the cover sheet commands o The parameters for the \Foreword and \endForeword commands have changed o The parameters for the \Introduction command have changed o The \stepparttitle command has changed o Many new clause heading commands have been introduced o The commands for documenting EXPRESS code have been modified o Many new boilerplate commands have been introduced o ???????????
