Changes In This Release: * this package is now distributed under the terms of the Artistic license; the same license PERL is distributed under * style now works properly with LaTeX2e---and is no longer usable with earlier versions of LaTeX---although the style has not been completely migrated to LaTeX2e * new \SBSection environment, to be used to divide songs into pieces other than verses and choruses * automatic generation of an index of songs, by key * new \CBPageBrk macro * new \ChordBk & \WordBk status variables * user contributed code now distributed with this package * new SongBook Style home page (see below for URL) chordbk.sty, wordbk.sty, overhead.sty: These styles have been used to produce the songbooks for our church. We needed to produce books that our song-leaders could use, as well as books for use in the congregation. So, these styles were written. The `chordbk.sty' is used to print a songbook with words and chords. The `wordbk.sty' is used to print a words-only songbook. The `overhead.sty' is used to print overhead transparencies. They all use the same LaTeX input file. `wordbk.sty' and `overhead.sty' simply ignore all of the chord information. sb-manpg.tex: This is the formal documentation for the songbook styles. A .dvi file is provided, as well as the .tex file. sample-sb.tex: This is a sample songbook. This file is used to produce the sample???.dvi files included with this package. To regenerate the .dvi files, simply uncomment the appropriate \document line and re-LaTeX the file. Manifest: chordbk.sty Words and chords sub-style. conditionals.sty Donald Arseneau's conditional tests. mksbkdx A shell script to make the index by song key. mksbtdx A shell script to make the index by song title. overhead.sty Overhead transparency sub-style. relnotes.txt The songbook package release notes (this file). sample-sb.tex A sample songbook. sampleCBK.dvi Sample-sb.tex formatted using chordbk.sty. sampleKdx.dvi The sample key index run through LaTeX. sampleKdx.tex Key index for the sample songbook. sampleOH.dvi Sample-sb.tex formatted using overhead.sty. sampleTdx.dvi The sample title index run through LaTeX. sampleTdx.tex Title index for the sample songbook. sampleToc.dvi The sample TOC run through LaTeX. sampleToc.tex TOC for the sample songbook. sampleWBK.dvi Sample-sb.tex formatted using wordbk.sty. sb-manpg.dvi The manual page run through LaTeX. sb-manpg.tex The songbook style manual page. songbook.ist The songbook package makeindex .ist file. songbook.sty The base style file. wordbk.sty Words only sub-style. Support: Please email me for help using the files. Please let me know about any bugs and problems. As noted above, there is now a SongBook Style home page. Its URL is: http://www.cyberus.ca/~crath/Misc/Songbook/ I will make bug fixes, other user's contributed macros and scripts, and the latest release of the software available on this web server.
