The president's term began on 29 July 1997 at the TUG Business Meeting held in conjunction with the 18th Annual Meeting of TUG, and the other officers' terms began on 1 August 1997, at the Board of Directors meeting immediately following the Annual Meeting. All officers' terms continue until the TUG Business Meeting held in conjunction with the 20th Annual Meeting of TUG in 1999. The By-Laws of TUG specify that the President, if not already a member of the Board of Directors, becomes a member ex officio, and the other officers are appointed by the Board from among its members.
The Executive Committee consists of the above officers.
