The TeX Catalogue Online

by Graham Williams

CTAN Edition

Welcome to The TeX Catalogue Online, CTAN Edition. This catalogue lists many TeX, LaTeX, and related packages and tools. Most are available world wide online from CTAN, the Comprehensive TeX Archive Network. Links are provided in this catalogue to available sources and documentation.

There are several ways to use this online catalogue. The complete version (over 400K) contains the full catalogue as a single document. The compressed version (40K) is the same, but gzipped. The Generic Catalogue is my home version of the catalogue with links direct to the Walnut Creek (cdrom.com) archive. If you want to download your own copy for personal use then that is the version that is most functional in stand-alone mode. The alphabetically indexed edition chunks the catalogue into smaller pages with a complete index of all entries included. The hierarchal index is based on the CTAN hierarchy.

The catalogue is maintained as a BibTeX database and is regularly updated. There are bound to be errors in the catalogue. If you come across any, or have comments, enhancements, and additions, please send them to me at Graham.Williams@cmis.csiro.au.

The catalogue has evolved over quite a few years and is quite large. Thanks to many who have contributed entries and ideas. In particular, Piet van Oostrum supplied quite a few one line descriptions and Sebastian Rahtz has added many entries for the TUG TeX Live CDROM. Robin Fairbains has provided many updates. Randy Kobes contributed code and ideas for the alphabetic and hierachical editions and a CGI script for locating a nearby CTAN for downloads.
