Welcome to CJK version 4.3.0 (20-Jun-1999), a LaTeX2e macro package which enables the use of CJK scripts (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) in various encodings, written by Werner Lemberg . A mailing list exists at cjk@ffii.org; bugs should be sent to cjk-bug@ffii.org. If you are interested in the process of development you may subscribe cjk-commit@ffii.org (a read-only list) to see the messages saved in the CVS repository. To subscribe one of the lists, send a mail with the subject `subscribe' (without the quotes) to -request@ffii.org, e.g. cjk-request@ffii.org. The home site of the CJK package is http://cjk.ffii.org and ftp://ftp.ffii.org/pub/cjk Additionally, the latest non-development version can be found on all CTAN hosts and its mirrors in the directory /language/chinese. The current development version is available via anonymous CVS: export CVSROOT=:pserver:anoncvs@anoncvs.ffii.org:/var/cvs cvs login cvs -z9 checkout cjk Please read the cvs info files for more details on how to use it. Alternatively, you can download a daily snapshot resp. a diff file relative to the last official release from ftp://ftp.ffii.org/pub/cjk/devel (source only). The package comes in three parts: CJK-4.3.0.src.tar.gz: The source files. Needed for all platforms. CJK-4.3.0.bin.zip: Binaries compiled with emx for DOS and OS/2 CJK-4.3.0.rest.tar.gz: Preformatted documentation files: DVI, PS, output from cjk-enc.el, etc. Note that on CTAN and its mirrors, the `src' archive is unpacked; you must thus get all files and subdirectories from language/chinese/CJK/. Here a small to-do-list: perl, awk, or python scripts in addition to BTM batch files for 4DOS and 4OS/2 (resp. Take Command) since these command.com replacements are shareware and not freely available (contrary to perl). Unicode virtual files for European characters. [It's rather unlikely that this will come since Omega, the Unicode version of TeX, is available already.] READMEs in Korean. More support for Omega. Better support for vertical typesetting emulation.
