Welcome to the TeX Live CD 5 version of the CJK package.

This version differs from the standard CJK package!  Please read the README
file how to download the `classical' version. Note that there are no
differences in functionality if you compare both versions, but some changes
and omissions:

. Documents of the CJK package which contain CJK characters have been
  modified so that the fonts available on the TeX Live CD 5 are used
  throughout.

. The font definition files, ttfonts.map, and the various PS mapping files
  have been adapted to contain proper entries for all fonts.  Not used FD
  files resp. not used entries in the mapping files have been removed to
  avoid confusion.

. Files necessary for a specific platform not supported on this CD together
  with source files of the auxiliary programs can be found in the
  src/cjkutils subdirectory of the CD.

Notes:

  . An `X' in the TeX font name usually represents a digit (except for `min'
    where it represents a letter).

  . `(CJK)' means that the font encoding is the default.  No special value
    has to be selected.

  . All font shapes in the table fit together rather well; if possible,
    mingti (in Japanese: mincho; in Korean: myoungjo) style has been
    selected.

  . `bsmi' and `gsbn' are TrueType fonts, `CNS' resp. `song' are HBF bitmap
    fonts. All others are PS Type 1 subfonts.

  . `bsmir' is rotated `bsmi' for pseudo-vertical typesetting. This is the
    only font on the CD which provides vertical glyph representation forms.
    The used TrueType font is the same.

  . `CNS' in Bg5 encoding is exactly the same font as `song' in CNS
    encoding.

  . `pol' (outline myoungjo) only exists for Korean Hangul; for Korean
    symbols and Hanja, normal myoungjo will be substituted.

  . Please use pshan.sty (with \usepackage) to make the default font
    switches like \mj or \ol work.

  . For usage with the Emacs editor and the cjk-enc.el interface, four Thai
    fonts (dbttXX) are also available on the CD.
