To determine success, check for existence of 
newlfm.cls, test1.dvi, test2.dvi, test3.dvi, test4.dvi

To finish, move all files *.sty *.cls to the TeX path
In addition, letrinfo.tex should go to the same place as newlfm.cls.

They should go to the local path, not the package path

This ensures that upgrades to the package do not delete your 
tailored version.

This file can be run as often as you wish.
