TUG Membership Information

  * How to become a TUG member

Online: Fill out the secure online membership form and submit it (there is a Submit button at the bottom of the membership form).

Paper mail: If you prefer to forego electronic submittal, you can alternatively print out the membership form from ASCII, TeX source, TeX DVI, PostScript, or PDF and following the instructions on the form.

  * Membership fees

TUG membership for 2000 is $65 a year for individuals, $35 for students and seniors, and $75 for non-member subscriptions to publications only. Add $10 to all three membership fees after March 1, 2000 to cover additional costs for shipping back isues of TUGboat. Any person joining after the first 2000 issue of TUGboat will be sent back issues by Priority Mail as soon as copies are available. Institutional rates for 2000 are $500, which includes up to seven individual memberships.

  * TUG membership benefits

Members of TUG help to support and promote the use of TeX, METAFONT and related systems worldwide. All members receive the quarterly journal TUGboat (the journal of the TeX Users Group), the TeX Live CD, and the Dante CTAN CDs, a 3-CD set containing most of the CTAN archive, updated every year. In addition, TUG members receive discounts on annual meeting fees, student membership rates and TUG-sponsored courses.

  * Immediate delivery of TeX Live and CTAN CD-ROMs

If you are a new TUG member as of 2000, you will be interested in the option of paying for a 1999 membership in order to receive immediate delivery of the TeX Live 4 and Dante CTAN 1999 CD-ROMs. Our updated CDs for 2000 are in preparation now for delivery with the first and second issues of TUGboat volume 21, scheduled for March 2000 and June 2000, respectively. If your need for the CDs is immediate, we suggest you order the 1999 materials in addition to your TUG membership for 2000: we will (right away!) send you all issues of TUGboat 20, the TeX Live 4 CD-ROM, and the Dante CTAN 1999 CD-ROMs.
