This directory contains a network-based installer and packages for TeX Live. It is mirrored throughout CTAN.
The TeX Live web pages describe other ways to acquire the distribution, installation after obtaining it, documentation, known issues and how to report bugs, and more.
If you have a complete copy of this directory (for example, via rsync), including the archive/ and tlpkg/ subdirectories, you can run the install-tl (install-tl.bat for Windows) script present here.
The update-tlmgr-latest.sh and .exe archives here are one way to update tlmgr itself, or recover from tlmgr being completely broken.
It is not recommended, but as an alternative to this network install, you can use the giant ISO image of the distribution.
