This directory contains variations on TeX support for MacOSX. Normally, you shouldn't use any of these; instead download the MacTeX distribution from your nearest CTAN mirror, as explained on the MacTeX web pages, http://tug.org/mactex. teTeX -- for those who want to return to the old MacOSX TeX of yesteryear. gwTeX -- one-button installer for Gerben Wierda's gwTeX. See http://ii2.sourceforge.net/tex-index.html. TeXLive-2007-Dev -- contains the latest development release of TeX Live 2007, without the GUI installer, Ghostscript, i-Installer, and other programs included in MacTeX. MacTeX-Additions -- includes only the additional programs, without a base TeX distribution. Thus, MacTeX-Additions+gwTeX is an alternative MacOSX TeX distribution. TeXLive-2007-BeamerPatch -- contains a small install package for users who have TeX Live 2007, patching Beamer to version 3.07. The teTeX release has not been upgraded since 2006. But the other packages are kept up to date. For instance, MacTeX-Additions contains more recent versions of ghostscript, BibDesk, and LaTeXiT than the MacTeX distribution, and TeXLive-2007-Dev contains the more recent development release of TeX Live, with beamer 3.07. Please consider joining a TeX user group (e.g., http://tug.org/join.html) to support this effort (and get the entire TeX Collection on DVD).
