Dear folks,

The uuthesis project ended in November 1993. Currently, testing of
uuthesis1-8.sty, uuguide.tex and testspacing.tex proceeds. All three are
located in

                /usr/local/lib/tex/uuthesis

where they can be easily copied (or ftp). The testspacing file is a
sample thesis of 202 lines that makes 22 pages of output. It is a good
test file for discovering how to handle figure and table placement.

Also located there is a directory for a revision of Jeff's sample thesis
together with Nelson's Makefile. My suggestion for understanding
uuthesis is to start with testspacing.tex of 202 lines and then migrate
into the more complex sample done by Jeff, Nelson and yours truly.

I am interested in what works and what does not. Also, what is missing
or disabled that's valuable.

WARNING:
           font size is 11pt or 12pt only. No 10pt support.
           baseline skips are 21pt and 13.5pt for 12pt,
             [were 23.499pt and 14.0098pt for 12pt]
           and 19pt and 13pt skips for 11pt.

Christine Pickett (Thesis Office) has approved the titles, baseline
skips and font size. But some trouble exists with the table of contents
as of February 1994. When its fixed, I'll erase these remarks.
