Up: Basic Information on Running Maxima

The Maxima system is a Common Lisp (CL) based version of the Macsyma symbolic computation system (licensed by the Department of Energy) with enhancements from University of Texas at Austin. Our version contains further enhancements from Kent.
The system is available on the SUN SPARC Stations: nimitz, dragon, tiger, snake, and monkey, and maybe others. It is also available on HP730 systems: condor, rabbit, etc. Some of these machines are for general access others are restricted to research groups. This document combines the information in several previous user guides.
