In Case of Trouble

If an error in the computation occurs, the MAXIMA system often goes into a ``break level'' and gives you a different prompt


MAXIMA>>
At this point if you just want to get back to the MAXIMA command top level just type

:q
and press the return key. If your computation goes on and on and you want to stop it, just type control-C (hold the control key down while pressing the c key). This should bring MAXIMA to the break level from which you can go to the top level as described.
