abstract = "Throughout the world, computer users approach a
computer system with a specific set of cultural
requirements. In all cultures, they expect computer
systems to accommodate their needs. A major part of
interaction with computers occurs through written
                 language. Cultural requirements, particularly written
languages, influence the way computer systems must
                 operate. Cultural differences concerning national
conventions for the presentation of date, time, and
number and user interface design for the components of
images, color, sound, and the overall layout of the
screen also affect the development of computer
technology. Successful computer systems must respond to
                 the multicultural needs of users.",
